Holocaust Remembrance Journeys
About the Remembrance Journeys Fund
The Morris Rubell Holocaust Remembrance Journeys Fund was founded in June 1997 to honor the legacy of Morris Rubell, a Holocaust survivor. Committed to fostering tolerance and understanding, the Fund provides educational opportunities—including school trips and programs—that teach young people of all backgrounds about the lessons of the Holocaust.
As a non-profit, tax-exempt organization operating under the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest New Jersey (JCFGMW), the Fund directs all donations toward its educational mission. Its initiatives are driven by dedicated volunteers, family members, and the support of JCFGMW professional staff. All contributions are tax-deductible.
Mission
The Morris Rubell Holocaust Remembrance Journeys Fund was established to bring Morris’ vision to life. Based in New Jersey, where he lived and worked, the Fund is dedicated to continuing his legacy through education and awareness. Its mission is to:
- Carry forward Morris’ commitment to teaching tolerance by educating young people about the Holocaust.
- Instill a deeper understanding of individual responsibility in combating racism, bigotry, and cruelty.
- Foster meaningful dialogue among youth, empowering them to share insights on humanity’s capacity for both good and evil and to cultivate a culture of knowledge and tolerance.
